FRINGE THEATRE AUDITIONS COMING SOON...Petrograd Express by Ken Cotterill

Sunday 28 March at 1pm and
Monday 29 March at 7pm in The Rondo rehearsal room behind our foyer and bar on Greenslopes St.

'Petrograd Express' by local playwright Ken Cotterill, directed by John Hughes.

As World War 1 rages across Europe, the Russian people, tired of war against Germany, force the Tsar to abdicate. In exile in Switzerland, Russian revolutionary Lenin eagerly waits to return to take charge of the revolution. However, he has to cross Germany, enemy territory, first. The Germans offer him a train, but will he return to Russia on the Petrograd Express?

There are  3 roles available:
Nadya : Lenin’s wife late 40’s but looks older due to illness.
Inessa : Lenin’s mistress early 40’s
Zinoviev: a male comrade late 30’s

All characters require a Russian accent. (Inessa’s could have a hint of French). This will need to be demonstrated at the auditions. A vocal coach will be available at rehearsals...

Digital copies of the script are available from the Producer: Geraldine Paterson ( These should be printed as hard copy and brought with you if you wish to audition. The play is an historical drama in one act lasting about 1 hour. Rehearsals will be three times a week:
Tuesday and Thursday 7 - 9 pm
Either Saturday or Sunday (to suit cast) 1 – 3 pm.
