About Us

 

The Rondo Theatre is a not-for profit community theatre situated in the centre of Cairns Cultural Precinct on Greenslopes Street Cairns. Each year the theatre produces a season of four or five major productions as well as a number of smaller productions. Supported and run entirely by volunteers, the Rondo Theatre boasts 70+ years of success in bringing high quality theatre to Cairns audiences.

The Rondo Theatre is managed by a committee of volunteers. Each year the committee is elected by the current members at the AGM in December. 
 

The Theatre is also fortunate to be supported by Cairns Regional Council through being a member of their 'Go Clubs' initiative. In 2024, a grant from this source enabled the Theatre to put a new roof over the container which provided a great deal of safe and dry storage for set pieces.
