SOCIAL
The best part of being a member of the Rondo Theatre community is building friendships with other members. Throughout the year we host a number of fun social events for members to get together, catch up and share in their love of theatre.
Play Reading Nights
The idea is really very simple. We get together, we sit around in a circle, and we have fun reading scripts out loud. It’s a fun way to become acquainted with some unfamiliar works or to share a script that is being considered for a season at the Rondo Theatre. The playwrights amongst us have been known to take advantage of this willing group of readers and pick their brains as they work through drafts of their own new works for the stage. These events are held three to four times a year in the Rondo Theatre foyer. Members are always welcome to bring a script to share, BYO beverage of choice and partake in some interesting discussions. Details of upcoming Play Reading Evenings are communicated through our monthly newsletter and Facebook page.
Club Nights
Rondo Theatre Club Nights are an evening of free entertainment for members, presented by the members, followed by socialising, eating, drinking. The entertainment part of the evening (45-70mins) can include anything from comedy skits, vocal and instrumental performances, spoken verse, monologues, and absurd free form interpretive dance (well, we are still waiting for this one). Then, the best part of being a member of the Rondo community: catching up, socialising, mingling, sharing a laugh, a drink, and a plate of food with our fellow members. We run a raffle each Club Night to raise funds to improve the theatre for members. Details for upcoming Club Nights are communicated through our monthly newsletter and Facebook page.
